Introducing you to Our Homeschool Grounding Nature Program
Welcome to GROUNDED GATHERINGS our Nature inspired program designed for children ages 5 to 12.
In this program, we will explore the wonders of nature through various art and craft activities inspired by the concept of bush school. Get ready for a fun-filled adventure that combines outdoor exploration, creativity, and relaxation/self regulating techniques.
Empower your child with this unique and enriching experience that combines the wonders of nature with the therapeutic benefits of art and craft. In this carefully designed program, we aim to provide a safe and nurturing space for children to explore their creativity, develop self-regulating techniques, build friendships, and create stunning art using natural materials.

who are we & What Are We About?
Miranda and Tracy are the founders of GROUNDED GATHERINGS, we are dedicated to providing learning experiences through nature which can be incorporated into your planning/program for your homeschooling children.

Years of Experience: With over 30 years of combined experience working with children, educating, and nurturing, we have the knowledge and expertise to create enriching learning experiences.
• Passionate about Nature Learning: We have a strong passion for nature learning and believe in its transformative power. We are committed to fostering a deep connection between children and the natural world.
• Holistic Approach: Tracy, a homeschooling mum with 20+ years experience of working with children aged 0 to 12yrs! She also brings her expertise in holistic living and learning to our programs. We believe in nurturing the whole child - mind, body, and spirit - through our nature-based activities.
• Reiki Mastery: Miranda, a holistic educator with Reiki mastery, brings an additional dimension to our programs. We incorporate energy/vibrational self regulating techniques to promote well-being and balance in children's lives.
Week 1: Clay Creations • Introduction to GROUNDED GATHERINGS and outdoor safety guidelines • Clay molding and sculpting using natural materials found in the environment • Exploring different textures and patterns in clay creations • Focus technique: Mindful observation of nature's patterns
Week 2: Flower and Flora Crafts Learning about local flowers and flora species • Creating flower crowns and nature-inspired art using petals, leaves, and other natural materials • Understanding the importance of respecting and preserving natural habitats • Focus technique: Breathing exercises for relaxation and focus
Week 3: Nature Scavenger Hunt • Guided exploration from creek to coast, discovering various natural elements along the way • Collecting natural treasures such as shells, rocks, and feathers • Documenting findings through drawings and nature journals • Focus technique: Nature sound meditation using natural sounds collected during the scavenger hunt
Week 4: Outdoor Cooking • Introduction to outdoor cooking safety and basic food preparation • Gathering edible plants and learning about their nutritional value • Cooking simple recipes using natural ingredients such as fruits and vegetables • Focus technique: Sensory grounding exercises using food and natural textures.
Week 5: Nature-inspired Art • Experimenting with different art techniques such as leaf printing, bark rubbing, and nature-inspired painting • Creating collaborative artwork using natural materials found in the environment • Understanding the beauty and significance of imperfections in nature and art • Focus technique: Guided visualization exercises inspired by nature scenes
Week 6: Earth Connection • Introduction to earthing and grounding techniques • Outdoor yoga and movement exercises in natural settings • Building nature-inspired sculptures and mandalas using rocks and other natural elements • Focus technique: Mindful walking and sensory awareness exercises in nature.
In this program, children will have the opportunity to connect with nature, express their creativity, and learn relaxation techniques through various engaging activities with no devices in sight!!! (Except us taking photos of their learning experiences 😉)
Throughout the program, safety guidelines and respect for the environment will be emphasized.

What to Bring: • Lunch, snacks and plenty of water
• Hat, sunscreen and bug repellent
• Long lightweight pants (to minimise the risk of bites and scratches)
• Long sleeved top? rashy or t-shirt (no singlets)
• Closed in shoes (compulsary when using hand tools and playing in the creek)
• Swimmers, rashie and towel
• Spare change of clothes (or two) and wet bag to put wet clothes in
• Rain gear: jacket, pants and gumboots (if wet weather is expected)
Fridays 9:30 - 1 :30
Casual days available at $80 per class
Or commit to a full term with a report at the end to provide to HEU.
10 weeks- $720 ( AFTERPAY OR PAYPAL PAYMENTS AVAILABLE)
This is a DROP & GO service within the homeschool regulations so that mums and dads can catch up on some work or simply have a break!
we are Qualified educators with working with childrens Blue cards and FIRST AID TRAINED.
A WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED for our outdoor all weather Program.
